What is a Sensitive Word?
Companies House class some words as Sensitive. Consequently, Companies House will not form or change the name of a company if the name contains one of these words. However, some words would be accepted if the company registration is supported by a letter of justification and it can be included with your incorporation.
Examples of sensitive words are Dental, Bank, Charity etc.
How can we get approval?
We will be happy to assist with obtaining approval to use a sensitive word. Although we cannot guarantee that approval will be given but we will try our best.
We will contact the relevant company/authority and we will try to obtain you approval to use a specific Sensitive Word.
How do we submit the approval to Companies House?
When you are applying to register your new company, there is an option on our website for you to upload a Supporting Data file. When you select this you will be able to upload the justification letter that we have obtained for you.
This will then be sent to Companies House for them to register your company.
